Bubbles and Poppy floated side by side, excited.

“I bet she picked me,” Bubbles whispered loudly.
Poppy giggled. “You always say that.”

They drifted closer to the woman
who was sitting beneath the lamplight.

Bubbles cleared his throat.
“So, important question.
Who won?”

Poppy leaned in, hopeful.
“Yes. Which one of us gets the victory speech?”

The woman smiled and stood, remaining in the lamplight.
Not because she was certain,
but because she was no longer afraid to move.

She opened her laptop and began.
She didn’t have all the answers, only enough light to take the next step.

“What’s she doing?” Bubbles whispered.
Poppy shrugged. “Something brave.”

Bubbles sighed dramatically.
“So, we still don’t know?”

Poppy smiled.
“We don’t need to. She chose to trust.”

The two bubbles floated beside her as she worked,
cheering her on, as she stepped forward in His light.

Something to Sit With

Sometimes the next step isn’t bold or heroic.

It’s simply a willing step forward,
still seated with Jesus,
whose word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105).

Quest’s Note

You don’t need the whole map.
Just enough light…
and a willing paw.
