My Definition for JesusClues
A Jesus Clue is when the Holy Spirit brings back to mind something Jesus has already said, just as He promised in John 14:26.
It doesn’t add to Scripture.
It doesn’t replace Scripture.
It simply helps us remember and stay close to what God has already revealed.
Where the Light Begins
Jesus is the Light.
Scripture is the lamp that guides our steps.
The Holy Spirit reminds us of what Jesus has said so we can walk clearly.
What I Mean by Jesus Clues
Paws Before the Path
Truth is never hidden from the light of God’s Word.
🐾 Case Notes
A Jesus Clue is a moment when the Holy Spirit brings a truth from Scripture to mind, reminding us of something Jesus has already taught and helping us apply it to the situation we are facing.
It is not a new message.
It is not a hidden signal.
It is the Spirit of God helping us remember what Christ has already said.
Jesus promised this very work of the Spirit:
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit… will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”
— John 14:26
Sometimes we are walking through ordinary moments—worry, anger, confusion, or fear—and suddenly a verse of Scripture rises to mind. A truth we already know becomes clear again.
That moment of remembrance is what I call a Jesus Clue.
The Guardrails
A Jesus Clue stays safely within the boundaries of biblical teaching.
1️⃣ Scripture Alone Is God’s Revealed Word
God has already spoken through His Word.
The Bible is complete, sufficient, and authoritative.
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching…”
— 2 Timothy 3:16–17
A Jesus Clue never adds to Scripture or replaces it.
2️⃣ The Holy Spirit Reminds Believers of Scripture
The Holy Spirit works in the hearts of believers to illuminate God’s Word—helping us remember, understand, and apply it.
He does not give new revelation.
He brings to mind the truth that has already been revealed.
3️⃣ Experiences Do Not Create New Revelation
Life events themselves are not messages from God.
Circumstances may prompt reflection, but the authority and guidance always come from Scripture.
A Jesus Clue is simply the moment when the Spirit uses God’s Word to bring clarity to the situation we are facing.
What a Jesus Clue Is (and Is Not)
A Jesus Clue is:
remembering a verse of Scripture
recognizing a truth Jesus already taught
applying biblical truth to a real moment in life
A Jesus Clue is not:
interpreting random signs
receiving private revelations
discovering hidden messages in circumstances
The light always comes from God’s Word.
Where the Light Begins
Jesus is the Light.
“I am the light of the world.”
— John 8:12
Scripture is the lamp that guides our steps.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
— Psalm 119:105
And the Holy Spirit faithfully reminds us of what Christ has already said so that we can walk clearly.
When His Word returns to our minds in the moment we need it most, we are reminded that we are not walking alone.
Those quiet moments of remembrance are what I call Jesus Clues.
